Montmorillonite (MMT) and nano SiO2 were modified in this thesis, and the melt casting nylon (MC nylon)/MMT nanocomposite and MC nylon/SiO2 nanocomposite were prepared via in-situ anionic polymerization. The structure and physical properties were tested and studied by XRD, FT-IR, TG and EUTM.The results indicated that the basal spacing of modified montmorillonite was increased with different intercalation agents. In the process of the crystallization of MC nylon, montmorillonite enhanced the formation of the γ-crystalline, and the diffraction tip of γ-crystalline was intensified when the quantity of montmorillonite increased. Sticking strength of the interface between MC nylon and montmorillonite can be increased by adding KH-550 coupling agent. Adding montmorillonite which was modified by KH-550 can improve the mechanical properties of MC nylon, and the composite has the most excellent mechanical properties when adding 4wt% modified montmorillonite. The thermolysis temperature of the composites is improved for the adding of the modified montmorillonite. Compared with MC nylon, the mechanical properties of MC nylon/SiO2 nanocomposite were increased a lot. Adding lwt% nano SiO2 which was modified by KH-550 made the composite have the most excellent mechanical properties.
