The production methods of tert-butylamine were described, their advantages and disadvantages were discussed. The green process — the catalytic amination of isobutene process are introduced emphatically.The preparation technologies for tert-butylamine with isobutene were briefly reviewed. Emphasis is given on the new researches in China. The technics for isobutene catalyzed by molecular sieve to form tert-butylamine were investigated. After a further study of the effect of reaction temperature, reaction pressure and the ratio of ammonia to isobutene, the following suitable conditions were obtained: reaction temperature between 250℃ to 300℃, The reaction pressure between 6.0 to 10.0 Mpa, the ratio of ammonia to isobutene in the range of 1.0-2.0 and isobutene space velocity between 3.0 to 5.0h-1. The results showed that the conversion of isobutene was up to 8% and the selectivity of tert-butylamine could reach up to 94%. This technic has reached up to the level of the same field in other countries.
