Abstract/Summary:
Disposition of fly ash and treatment of wastewater are two important questions in environment protection and sustainable development. Fly ash has many special properties, such as its large specific area; good disperse ability and virtual chemical composition which wastewater treatment need. Therefore, it has become a hot debate in research field about how to use fly ash furthest, especially in wastewater treatment. The research in this paper dealt with this problem through the way and view of material science, aiming to improve the level of comprehensive utilization of fly ash, to enhance the efficiency of wastewater treatment and the reaction mechanism is also analyzed. The main work in this paper includes following two parts:1, Separate fly ash into three parts: indefinable form particle, micro sphere and minute particle. And then study the flocculation of every part respectively. The result shows that, indefinable form particle has the largest specific area, and the best decontamination; and micro sphere is the worst for wastewater treatment.2, In this part, acid and alkali were used to corrode fly ash, and then the samples' adsorb ability were tested, also the mechanism of the reaction were analysis in this paper, includes:â‘  The major reaction is corroded glass phase and leaved crystal as mullite and quartz when HF mixed with fly ash. The higher concentration it is, the heavier corrosion. Therefore, HF could not increase the absorb ability too much.â‘¡ HC1 react with Al2O3 in glass phase when it mixed with fly ash. Therefore the sample's absorb ability improved a little because the larger of specific area.â‘¢ NaOH could corrode the SiO2 in glass phase when it mixed with fly ash. Some silica gel generate in the solution, and zeolite P apparenced as a result of the reaction of the alkali solution and silica. So this sample has good performance in absorb test.
