Shandong Aluminum Co., Ltd. now mainly uses low-grade bauxite to produce Alumina by sintering method. Grog kiln is the key equipment in the alumina production by sintering method. Its operating cycle and productivity will influence our benefit. It is impossible to build new grog kiln because there is no enough space and the investment is too large. Therefore, it becomes the key to the beneficial result that the long cycle, security and high efficiency operation.The essay takes the grog kiln as a whole system. Firstly it describes the structure, composition and principles. Secondly it finds the factors that influence the grog kiln's operation cycle through many years practice experience. At last it analyses different factors and find the way to solve the strategy and methods. In the process of the studying, this essay use different methods to solve different factors. The study of new composite insulated brick and lining, the improvement of builds technics and using three-channel coal combustion devices to replace single-channel coal combustion devices are mainly depended on the operation practice. The reform of support system is depended on mechanical theory. The development of iron bricks in kiln head used new high-temperature wearable alloy is depended on material capability. The coupling of centrifugal air exhauster changing in the tail of kiln from shaft coupling to soft start shaft coupling is mainly used mechanical design theory for design and innovations.Practice proven that the study get obvious result since our plant start the study grog kiln system in 1999. Operation cycle, operation rate and productivity increase greatly. Till now the life cycle of kiln lining prolong from 204 days in 1999 to 300 days. And the operation rate of kiln rises from 89% in 1999 to 94%. The long cycle and high efficiency operation of grog kiln bring great benefit to the enterprise and also reduce the production cost, which make our company more competitive in the national and international market.This essay get breakthrough in the study of lining, new type high-temperature wearable alloy and parts and the soft start shaft coupling of centrifugal air exhauster changing in the tail of kiln.
