The study on capability of decolorization of Phanerochaete chrysosporium to dyestuff under condition of the shallow static culture was carried out. The basic parameters of decolorization to mode dye using Phanerochaete chrysosporium were ascertained, including the dye structure, pH value and the dye concentration. A white rot fungus biomembrane reactor system was set up, and the optimal operation parameters of the reactor system were ascertained. The effect of inducement and adscititious glucose in repeated batch operations on dye decolorization was studied. Acclimated activated sludge was used in further treatment to effluent which have been pretreated by white rot fungi biomembrane reactor. Experiments were carried out to study the operation conditions of the combined process of white rot fungus - activated sludge system, and the process route was proved to be feasible by treating both simulated dye wastewater and actual dye wastewater. The decolorization rate and COD removal rate of the actual dye wastewater are 99% and 94.4% respectively after being treated by the combined white rot fungus-facultative -aerobic process.
