There are multi-aperture in cotton fiber, which can accommodate some inorganic material, and taken possession of special function. Nitrogen adsorption (77.4 K) was measured on aperture structure of cotton fiber. Aperture structure parameter, such as micro- aperture volume and aperture size distributions, were characterized. And on the base of analyzing cotton fiber aperture structure and the aperture distribution, penetrate Ba2+ into the cotton fiber internal, contact PO33- and generate phosphoric acid barium and phosphoric acid hydrogen barium crystallization sedimentation in the micro-aperture of cotton fiber. Therefore, phosphoric acid barium and phosphoric acid hydrogen barium particles will be assembled into the interior structure of the cotton fiber, form inorganic ion / cotton fiber composite materials. Therefore, the cotton fiber has excellent functional of fire-retardant, and some good functional of anti-UV. So, the success of experiments means that there is leading function to develop functional cotton fabric. The research to the aperture structure of cotton fiber show that the Maximum value of aperture size distribution appears at 20A, and the total pore volume at 20-40A is 68.16%. And analyzed the important factors influencing inorganic ion fastness in cotton fiber interior using a statistical method of perpendicular design. Under this influenced factors, we measure that the LOI of fire-retarded cotton fabric is 21.9 and the UPF of anti-UV is17.7. The testing of washing-resistant shows that there are multi-nanometer-aperture structure indeed in cotton fiber interior. After the fabrics are washed 12 times, the rate of increase of fabrics remains over 6% and the inorganic ions are firmly integrated.
