Zinc is the major element in the high-iron sphalerit concentrate ,which comprises indium ,silver and so on ,too. Indium is about 300g/t in zinc sulfide concentrate , adoping the old process, the recovery ratios of indium is lower. Therefore, in the paper, the technologies and theories of the main stages in the new process which pressure leaching-extraction have been investigated . Adoping the new process, because it has cleanly production process, simple process and high indium re-covery totally,it is hopeful to replace the traditional process of indium. This paper summarizes the process of induim and its correlative data , and analyzes that there are some investigation papers in the in-country and overseas. First of all, it investigates the base of the kinetics and thermodynamics of the pressure leaching, and discusses the effect of granularity, pressure, acidity and leaching-time.The result indicates the recovery ratios of indium will reach 90% in the appropriate conditions.Investigation the separation of indium and iron and the enrichment of them. During the deoxidization and pre-neutralization phase, the concentration of Fe3+ is under 1.0g/L.Only after the ferric concentration in solution was reduced adequately can the effective of indium and iron be realized and indium-rich slag obtained during the process of indium neutralizing, precipitation. At last, the extraction to recover indium was research.Under the optimum conditions such as the component of the organic phase being p204 of 20% and kerosene 80%,extraction temperature of 25°C ,progressions of 4,ratio of O/A=1:10,and extraction time being 5 min,the extractive ratio of indium and its stripping ratio are 97% and 99% respectively. By using high-iron sphalerit concentrate to spongy indium, the total recovery ratio of indium is 76%,which increased by 20% compared to the routine process.
