Ball mill is one of the most important equipment in many industrial sections.This paper foundation in the existing ball mill theories, carry on a research about the regulation of ball movement base on the 3D DEM, looking for an method to analyze it by computer simulation and validate the trustiness of simulation result by compare with the experiment result, analyze the factor that influence the milling effect of ball mill.This paper elaborates the work principle of ball mill by first, studys existing theories and deduce a certificate through the mechanics analysis that there is a opposite glide between the ball and the tube body when the mill working on the critical speed. Builting up ball mill number model on the foundation of the 3D Discrete element method by the software PFC3D.By contrasting the critical speed when the mill model fill with different ball with the related previous scholar experiment data, verify the accuracy and rationality of the model and point out the main factor whetting that influence the effect of promotes is the rotate of ball and the opposite glide between it and the tube body.By contrasting with the experiment photo, verified the simulation result of balls different movement form is accuracy.According to simulation result, taking the 640×540 ball mill for research object, analyzed the useful power and force on the lifter of mill on different speed,different number and high lifter and with different mill fill rate.All of this work may be useful to the equipments design and the mill technological design of the mineral.
