Ball mill is a major equipment in minerals operating of comminution.It occupies an important position in many industrial sections need comminution such as: nonferrous metals,black metals,chemical,nuclear and building materials.In concentrator,ball mill is one of the most important equipment in the entire process. Grinding capacity and energy consumption are often determines all capacity and energy consumption of the concentrator.Therefore in-depth study of the ball mill is very necessary.Affect the productivity of grinding have a lot of factors,eg:speed,lining form, lining materials,the grinding nature of the material,grinding media,filling rate,the ratio of the ball and the type of grinding machine,and so on.Lining is the most easily damaged parts of ball mill,it can be used not only to protect cylinder lining,extended equipment life,but also by changing the shape of different lining to control the ball in the cylinder body trajectory.When In the same type of ball mill,rational use ball mill linings can improve the productive capacity and performance of the ball mill.But,at present,the research on the lining form to useful work on the ball mill and the force of lining are not perfect,the majority remain in the study only on experience and experiment,and has not carried out its numerical simulation.For these reasons,the papers on the basis of three-dimensional discrete element method and the three-dimensional discrete element software PFC3Dare used,established a numerical model to kinematic of mediums,through the numerical simulation analysis the form of lining.The ball mill status quo is introduced at home and abroad,the theory and the software,and anylasis the materials,structure,and the forms of force and failure are described,and then establishment of a ball mill eligible media campaign numerical model on the basis of mill theoretical research is described,the discrete element method and three-dimensional discrete element software PFC3D,combined with some academics before the relevant experimental data show that the model correctly and rationality.Finally,analysis of the lining upgrade of the number,height,shape of the ball mill useful work through numerical simulation,and by simulating the movement lining trapezoidal shape,analysis of different speed,fill rate and lining wear under conditions of the lining mill useful power of influence that the wear of the ball mill linings changes directly affect the shape media campaigns.Concluded the use of reasonable form lining to improve efficiency and ball mill grinding lining life is important.The Papers'conclusions for ball mill on the reached of numerical simulation provide a new approach and theoretical guidance for further studies on lining and other related design of mill.
