The ball mill is kind of machin that is very important and used extensively in a lot of trades such as building materials,metallurgy, mineral processing and so on.Therefore, the study of the mill theoretical work is necessary. As the role of ball mill was caused by the movement of grinding ball,So we must firstly study the law of motion of the grinding ball。In production process, the consumption of scaleboard and the grinding ball in the production accounts for a significant proportion of the costs, from the view of economic efficiency and equipment utilization, increasing grinding efficiency and reducing the wear extent of scaleboard, can greatly reduce production costs. Therefore, topics of this paper has a very active theoretical and practical significance for the grinding production.The grinding productivity was caused by many factors, such as:speed, type of scaleboard, material of scaleboard, the nature of grinding materials, grinding dielectric, filling rate, the matching of grinding ball,the type of grinding machine and so on. Scaleboard is the most easily damaged parts of the ball mill,it was used not only to protect the cylinder body and extend the life of equipment, but also to control the ball trajectory in the cylinder body by changing the scaleboard of different shapes, and can achieve the best trace of grinding ball to improve the grinding efficiency.In this paper, it was carried out a detailed and theoretical analysis of the principle of ball mill and the state of milling ball, and educed the equation of the motion path and impact velocity, impact angle etc of milling ball which was thrown in an ideal state; result indicate that the sliding exist between ball movement in the actual layers by the analysis of the rotation speed of balls.Base on the study of the analakinematic principle of grinding ball,the paper researched into the relationship that between the ball's motion state and the the scaleboard's structural style. and produced the basis of scaleboard's structural design. It has great significance for rational design of scaleboard's structural to reduce the wear extent of scaleboard.The paper created a life prediction model for scaleboard, obtained the main factors which influence the wear extent of scaleboard.and it has the use of certain innovative.On the other hand,the paper studied the affect of grinding ball impacting on the scaleboard, simulated the impact abrasive wearing process using the finite element analysis software ANSYS. With its strong function of post processor, obtained at different times the displacement of node and various kinds of colored atlases about stress. Verify the impact abrasive wear characteristics, confirmed the software's usability and reliability. And from the perspective of the mechanical properties discussed of the mechanism of material worn.This is very important for improves material wear life and correct organizational design,but also provides the basis of from theoretical studies of failures mechanism of impaet abrasive wearing.
