The two gaseous Reference Materials, Carbon dioxide in nitrogen and methane in air, belong to standard mixed gases. Being Reference Materials, they are chiefly applied of work standards in instrument calibration, method opinion or arbitration of chemical and environmental analysis. This paper mostly introduced the actuality of gaseous Reference Materials in our country. Compared the developing of gaseous Reference Materials in each area, it have a conclusion that developing and producing gaseous Reference Materials in north-west area are necessary. This paper introduced the method and process of developing gaseous Reference Materials, the test of equality, the review of stability, and the means of giving a fixed value or evaluation of measurement uncertainty.
