Ionic liquids , also room temperature molten salts, is a kind of salts that entirely consist of cation and anion. Room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) are attracting considerable attention as reaction solvents, extraction solvents, catalyst and electrolyte materials as a result of their remarkable properties, including a negligibly small vapor pressure, high thermal stability,to be recyclable, and high ionic conductivity. This dissertation is mainly aimed to the synthesis of some kinds of ionic liquids which were all analyzed and characterized by 1H NMR and IR. Use these synthesized ILs as catalyst in synthesis of butyl acetate. The following are the main content of this dissertation:1. Summarize the notion , properties ,applications of ILs, synthesis methods and applications of ILs in chemistry in recent years.2. Synthesized three ionic liquids, 1-benzyl-3-methyl imidazolium chloride, 1-benzyl-3-methyl imidazolium bromide,1-benzyl-3-methyl imidazolium iodide through alkylation and quaterisation from the material imidazole and characterized by 1H-NMR, IR and TGA.3. Synthesized seven pyridinium ionic liquids(MPI,EPB,BPB,HPB,OPB,DPB, CPB)from the material pyridine and characterized by 1H-NMR and IR.4. Described novel RTILs that areprepared by coupling the imidazolium cation with 11 differentnatural amino acids and characterized by 1H-NMR, IR5. Used these synthesized ILs as catalyst in synthesis of butyl acetate.Factors such as proportion of acetic acid and 1-butanol, catalyst, temperature ,time, the repetition of catalyst were discussed, and found the optimum catalyst, conditions and the life of the catalyst.Contrsated with convertional catalyst in synthesis of butyl acetate. It showed: BPB was the best catalyst in synthesis of butyl acetate; the appropriate proportion of acetic acid and 1-butanol was 1.4:1or 1:1.3; the appropriate dosage of catalyst was 2%; the appropriate tempreture was 96℃and time was 3h; repetition of catalyst had good effection; contrasted with sulfuric acid BPB was also a good catalyst...
