Based on the molecular structure of the Substrate material of IPMC, a method of preparation IPMC material has been found, by which it has made the IPMC material which could produced large displacement when stimulated by voltage.Based on the theory of construction relations of elastic medium, the constitutive equation of super-elasticity medium has been deduced, which is advantageous for practical application. And the precise tensile test has been done. Through the test, the isotropy of the material IPMC is confirmed, and its Young's E and Poissonv are obtained, by which the parameters of the constitutive equation of IPMC material is be determination. So the constitutive equation of IPMC material is obtained.The cantilever setup of IPMC is been set up , and then the response character test has been done. Through the test, the relation of the tip displacement and the voltage is obtained when the IPMC is stimulated by direct current and the relation of the tip displacement and the frequency is obtained also when the IPMC is stimulated by square wave voltage. The relation of the tip displacement and voltage shows that it is saturated when the stimulating voltage at 5V. When continuing to increase voltage, the tip displacement is degressive. The relation of the tip displacement and frequency shows that the tip displacement of IPMC can achieve maximum when the frequency is below 30mHz and it declines gradually when the frequency increase,which declines quickly when the frequency at 30mHz-100mHz.The Mechanics model has been established of the cantilever setup of IPMC material by using the result of the study on construction relations of IPMC material and deducing the large displacement solution method of deflection curve differential equation. Then combining the fitting equation which is obtained in the study of the response character of IPMC stimulated by voltage, the electric-mechanical transfer model has been established. By compared the experiment curve with the electric-mechanical transfer model curve, the electric-mechanical transfer model is been proved to validity.
