The development of life science is a process of a deeper and wider study of the materials (such as protein, DNA, sugar, metal ion, anion and neutral molecular) that make up of organisms. In this process, a basic problem is the detection and identification of these materials. Fluorescent dyes can give off light signal, do no harm to human body and can be easily detected, so it is an ideal labeling reagent.Among all the dyes, Boron-dipyrromethene(BODIPY) derivatives have some advantageous characteristics, such as sharp absorption and fluorescence bands, high molar extinction coefficients, high fluorescence quantum yields and stability against light and chemical reactions. Owing to these specific characteristics, studies on BODIPY derivatives have been widely reported in recent years. In light of it is difficult to import a reaction group in BODIPY dye as used to be, thus the applications of BODIPY dye in analytical chemistry, life science and other fields are limited. Four kinds of BODIPY fluorescent dyes were devised and synthesized mainly in this dissertation. Fortunately, three of them are seized of hydroxybenzene that the hydroxyl is a reactive position, so after being modified the dyes can be prepared to some proper fluorescent probes, which would be widely used in analytical chemistry, life science and other fields. The following are the main content of this dissertation:Chapter one: Reviews were given firstly on the categories, properties and the applications of the fluorescent dyes in analytical chemistry, life science and other fields.Chapter two: Synthesized a novel NIR fluorescent dye with a circle structure forming by two BODIPY cores, then analyzed and characterized the dye by 1H NMR , IR and EI-MS. We also studied the spectrum of the dye and determined the fluorescence quantum yields and the lifetimes of the dye in different solvents.Chapter three: Synthesized three fluorescent dyes which are seized of hydroxybenzene that the hydroxyl is a reactive position. Then we analyzed and characterized the dye by NMR and IR. We also studied the spectrum of the dyes.
