Photoacid Generator (PAG) is a kind of organic compound which can decompose and generate acid under external excitation (for example: light, heat, radial, plasmer etc). Because the acid formed by PAG can be controlled by external condition, PAG can be abroad used in many fields, such as photoresist, computer to plate (CTP) etc. So it is of much significance to synthesize new and effective PAGs, explore the relationship between PAG's structure and performance and research the imaging performance of the systems containing PAGs and acid-sensitive polymer.A series of triazine derivatives as photo-acid generators are synthesized by the reaction of 2-methyl-4,6-bis(trichloromethyl)-1,3,5-triazine with some aromatic aldehydes substituted with different groups in the ethanol, when using acetic acid and piperidine as the catalyst. All compounds'structures are confirmed by IR, 1HNMR, MS and etc.Ethanol is used as the solution instead of toluene to give the products in high yields. And the reactions become environment-friendly and simple. The product is easy to separate and pure enough to satisfy the next reaction. Evaluations was followed about PAGs'solubility, thermal-stabilization, ultraviolet absorption and acid-forming performance under exposure after being dissolved in CH3CN.The results show that all PAGs have good solubility in common organic solvents (CH2Cl2, THF etc). Almost PAGs'thermal-stabilization is very excellent (Their thermal-decomposition temperatures are between 190300℃except PAG4 and PAG8).Further more, according to the method ascertained in our laboratory, their acid-forming performance in acetonitrile under irradiation at 405 nm and 365 nm indicates that the PAGs containing typical D-π-A structure, such as the compouds (PAG1 and PAG4) containing dimethylamine group, indolyl group respectively, have higher acid-forming quantum efficiencies, especially PAG1 over 60% at 405 nm.In this research two kinds of imaging systems containing PAG are designed. One system is composed of hydroxylmethylene novolac resin, linear novolac resin(weight ratio =1.2:1) and carbazolyl PAG(1%, based on resin's weight). The plate is obtained after exposure, whose imaging area and non-imaging area have different affinity. Meanwhile the well-reproductive printing product is also obtained.The other is containing2, 6-dihydroxylmethyl-p-cresol as cross-linking regent, linear novolac resin (weight ratio=3:1), PAGs (5% based on the resin). The imaging plate is clear-cut by SEM test.Two kinds of new cross-linking imaging systems containing PAG and acid-sensitive resin are acquired by exploring the exposing time, baking time and the concentration of developing solution etc. They can be hopefully used in the field of UV imaging system.
