Study On The Spinning Technology Of The Refined Jute Fiber

Jute fiber is one kind of natural cellulose fiber with excellent properties, which make its products have good wearing characteristics and appearance style. Therefore, it receives great favors of global markets and the customers. But the properties and spinning ability of jute fiber and the traditional jute spinning technology restrict the variety and grade of its product development seriously. The pretreatment and the spinning process of jute fiber, the development of high count, high proportion jute blend yarn were studied in this paper.Considering the characteristics of jute fiber, spinning system and request for the processing technology, the pretreatment of jute fiber and its process were studied in this thesis and an optimal scheme achieved. Meanwhile, the properties of the pretreated jute fiber were studied. Through the pretreatment, the pliability, the intensity and fineness of jute fiber increases by 23%, 2.8% and 8%, respectively. While the noil percentage of jute fiber deceases by 15%. The average length of jute fiber also improves. Good material was provided for the spinning process and product development of jute fiber by the pretreatment.Taking use of the pretreated refined jute fiber and cotton spinning process, the jute/cotton blend yarn was studied and developed. By the researching and adjusting of the main process from drawbreaking, opening and blowing, carding, drawing and roving, thick yarn to fine yarn, the jute fiber can be used in cotton spinning system appropriately. Meanwhile, the properties of semi-finished products in each process were studied. In the process of spinning, the fineness and knops of refined jute fiber increases by 24.9% and 39.5%, respectively. While the intensity, average length, short fiber content, over-length fiber content, water content and impurity content deceases by 28%, 34.2%, 28%, 84.4%, 71.4% and 70.6% respectively. It can be concluded that the high count, high proportion jute blend yarn could be made by using the cotton spinning equipment.The study in the properties of jute blend yarn shows that the breaking tenacity, elongation at break of 27.8tex J40/C60 refined blend yarn increases by 8.3% and 2.94% respectively than the common blend yarn. While the strength irregularity, elongation irregularity at break, weight deviation, nub and knops drops by 6.79%, 0.95%, 0.7%, 68.1% and 19.6% respectively. Meanwhile, hairiness of yarn decreases greatly too.
