With the people enhancement consciousness of the environmental protection and the safety and health, the residual formaldehyde after chemistry finishing textile are recognized, it is improtent. For example, JIS L 104 "Resin Finishing Textile Testing Method"; AATCC 112 "Fabric release formaldehyde determination: Seal bottle Method", and so on. Our country formulated GB18401-2003 "Textile product basic safety work standard. GB18401-200l"Ecoloy Textile Specification" and so on.Domestic and foreign has difference about formaldehyde determination standard. Our country formulated GB/T 2912 "Textiles-Determination of formaldehyde-Part 1:Free and hydrolyzed formaldehyde(Water extraction method) ".The standard depend on acetylacetone and the formaldehyde reacting to product yellow compound. The formaldehyde content is determined by spectrophotography. It is easy and feasible. If according to this law determination formaldehyde, the result reproduction is bad. The reason is in the analysis process on several question. There are formaldehyde original fluid standardized, when the standard solution is standardized, how to choice standard substances; end point of titration judgment method; the fabrics were measured, the sample quantity also should depend on the residual quantity to decide. Otherwise it can create enlarge the error for the fabric of the formaldehyde content excessively.This article pointed the above question after experimental and the result data analysis, the corrected value and the best method will be given. All these are carried on the analytical chemistry least error theory.Moreover, about the micro formaldehyde other analysis methods have many. For example, chromotropic acid process; aniline red sulfurous acid process; phenylhydrazine hydrochloride method; 10-phenanthroline-ferrous ion indirect analytic method; dynamics catalytic reaction analytic; gas chromatography; semi-quantitative indicator paper fast measuring method and so on. The paper passes also through the experiment to the above method to analyze and carrying on the contrast with the GB. The conclusion is the revision GB friendly, gas chromatography. It is the quite satisfying method in analyzing on the fabric the residual formaldehyde. GB code law simple convenient accurate, the gas chromatography is more reliable. But because the expensive instrument is not everywhere to result in, therefore causes the difficulty. After suggested the revision the GB code law to be best.
