Msc County Area Surface Runoff Pollution Load

With the development of urbanization and the control technology progress of the point source pollution, the pollution of urban surface runoff has recently got much urgent attention. The research overseas has showed that the urban surface runoff plays an important role on surface water pollution. Atfer the effective control of the point source pollution, the surface runoff will be the main source of surface water pollution.After summarizing some domestic and overseas studies, this thesis introduces the study of non-point pollution load about the proceedings, problems, direction, the terms and characters of urban surface runoff. Runoff curve number method, an empirical model to estimate the runoff deveodped by USDA SCS, is used in this study to estimate the runoff of differently covered surface (roof/street/ road/green belt). This thesis analyzes the relationship of the surface runoff with some factors.Considering the characters of the build-up and wash-off about urban ground pollutants, index function is applied in the study. The result and the wash-off model is adopted to calculate the non-point source pollution load in Haian urban area. With the runoff load and the pollution load, the concentration of Haian urban area runoff is caculated. It also provides some effective measures to manage and control runoff.
