In the thesis, the synthesis and antiscale performance of SSMA are studied.Two reaction systems are used to synthesize the polymer: KPS system and H2O2 system. Comparing with the systems, the H2O2 system are adopted.The water soluble polymers are prepared by solution polymerization techniques with water as solvent, H2O2 as initiator, FeNH4(SO4)2 as catalyst. The monomers are maleic anhydride (MA), sodium p-styrene sulfonate (SS) and crylic acid acrylate (HPA). Then such two inhibitors are obtained as SSMA and SSMA-HPA. The effects of the monomer ratio, initiator amount, catalyst dosage, reaction temperature and reaction time on the synthesis are investigated. The optimum synthesis conditions are built by the orthogonal method. The macromleculars are characterized by TR spectra and TG..The results of static scale control experiment show that the performance of SSMA and SSMA-HPA are good at inhibiting the depositionCaCO3,CaSO4,Zn2+ salt. The CaCO3 scale inhibitory rate of the polymer SSMA and SSMA-HPA are respectively 61.53% and 69.57 %. The CaSO4 scale inhibitory rate of the polymer SSMA and SSMA-HPA are respectively 56.21% and 55.16 %. The Zn2+ salt scale inhibitory rate of the polymer SSMA and SSMA-HPA are respectively 52.28 %and 74.66 %.By SEM and XRD, the change of the dirty shape happens since the polymers present, and it shows that the polymer scale inhibitors have good performance, it can be used in the water treatment very well.
