With the development of modern industrial technology, cold roll forming is an economical material that has been widely used in many fields such as automobile manufacturing, architecture & decoration, light industry, electronics, highway construction, etc. The Cut-off of cold roll forming in China is a low productivity, poor precision and material wastage industry. The primitive processing method for special outline forming leads to second precise cut-off for high accuracy products because first cutting's accuracy cannot meet the demand.This subject summarizes the present condition in cut-off of cold roll forming, analyzes the reasons of low precision with current process characteristics and proposes a fully new system solution. This solution adopts advanced electromechanical integration technique and makes fast automatic tracking possible in cutting. When cutting mechanism is synchronized with the speed of cold roll forming, it makes quick accurate cut-off. This solution also uses interpolation technique for reference with controlling cutting path and makes the running track coincide with the external form of arc materials with the servo-control of servo-motor. On the new solution, this paper builds three-dimensional modeling of mechanical system, analyzes its static and dynamic performance, constructs control platform, and studies the properties of drive system and cut-off power. This research overcomes the disadvantages in present cut-off equipment, improves productivity and accuracy with error below 0.5mm and raises section quality. The design of system provides theoretical basis for practical production and engineering application of automatic tracking cut-off equipment.
