Benzotriazole Derivatives And Their Copper Complexes Synthesis And Characterization

Benzotriazole(BTA) is a kind of good heterocyclic organic compounds containing N atom,and a few of benzotriazole metal complexes have been synthesized,which have been growing in importance in coordination chemistry.By introduction of carboxyl and sulfo groups to the BTA,they would provide more coordination atoms,and the structure of the metal organic compounds obtained would be more novel and fantastic.4-sulfo benzotriazole, 5-methyl-4-sulfo benzotriazole,4-carboxyl benzotriazole and 5-carboxy benzotriazole were synthesized in this paper.4-sulfo benzotriazole and 5-methyl-4-sulfo benzotriazole were synthesized by the electrophilic substitution reactions,which were occurred under 110-130℃by using benzotriazole and 5-methyl benzotriazole as reactant respectively,oleum as sulfonating agent, mercury sulfate as a catalyst.On the other hand,4-carboxyl benzotriazole and 5-carboxy benzotriazole were synthesized by using 4-methyl benzotriazole,5-methyl benzotriazole as reactant,potassium permanganate as oxidizer under 70-90℃.Their structures were characterized by IR and MS.Four blue complexes and a colorless crystal were successfully obtained from aqueous by using 4-sulfo benzotriazole,4-carboxyl benzotriazole,and 5-methyl-4-sulfo benzotfiazole as ligands,1,10 -phenanthroline and 2,2'-bipyridine as the second ligands.And the structures of these compounds were determined and the chemical properties were investigated through IR, XRD,TG-DTG tests.
