Compress and extrusion, transfer moulding and liquid mould forging forming all belong to stress forming; compress die and extrusion die, transfer die and liquid forging die also belong to cavity mould, which all are tools to form solid goods which have certain shapes and capabilities by use of airtight cavities, which are as the necessary equipments of the process that polymer and metal being transformed into products. Compress and extrusion, transfer moulding and liquid mould forging forming technology are similar. In order to find out the similarities and differences of them, the forming theory, forming principle, forming technology, forming machine and mould are systematic contrastively analyzed in this paper. A lot of typical mould structures of compress and extrusion, transfer moulding and liquid mould forging are given, and mould working process is discussed. Basing on these typical mould structures, the component parts are respectively contrasted, the structure characteristics and design rules of moulds are summarized.Compress forms liquid plastic, whereas extrusion forms solid metal. The diffenence of forming material determines the diffenence of forming theory, technology, mould and product performance and application. But because they also belong to stress machining, they are resemble in forming principle, technology, especially in mould structure. Compress mould and extrusion mould all have working part, guide mechanism, demoulding mechanism, sending-force and join part in structure. When producing some products with side groove and other special shapes, Compress mould and extrusion mould also have side parting mechanism. Extrusion mould has not core pulling mechanism and material cavity. There are calefaction and cooling system, overfall and vent system in some extrusion mould.Transfer moulding forming and indirect liquid mould forging forming all belong to stress transfer forming, which determines transfer moulding forming and liquid mould forging are similar in forming principle, technology and mould structure. But direct liquid mould forging is directly formed in stress, which are similar with mould forging, and is totally different with transfer moulding. Transfer mould and liquid forging mould all need working part, guide mechanism, demoulding mechanism, calefaction and cooling system, overfall and vent system and join mechanism. Basing on needs, they can have opening and closing die mechanism and core pulling mechanism, but some liquid forging moulds have not material cavity, stress pole and feed system. Indirect liquid forging moulds and transfer moulds of force plunger are similar.The similarities and differences between compress and extrusion, transfer moulding and liquid mould forging forming technology are found out and summarized through contrast and analysis of them. This helps scientific research people to graft technique and develop better forming technology. This also help die design people to refer to avoid repeating work. It has important reference value and actual guidance meaning.
