Two-photons absorbed material become an active and interesting subject of nonlinear optical materials. Strong two-photon absorption materials have attracted considerable attention because of the great potential applications in many fields such as two photon fluorescence imaging,three- dimension optical data storage,optical power limiting,up-converted lasting,3D micro -fabrication and so on.Organic two-photon absorption material have better two-photon absorption activity than inorganic two-photon absorption material because of their advantages such as good flexibility,easy combination and modification. We have designed three kinds of chromophores containing dipicolinates .This paper is divided into two parts.Firstly, We designed one kind of the chromophore (B1) which containing pyridine- 2,6- dicarboxylic (dipicolinic) acid .It has a good two-photon absorption properties and the advantage of good water-soluble. This compound have been characterized by mass spectrometry, elemental analysis,1HNMR and so on . The TPA cross sections of molecule B1 have been measured by open-aperture Z-scan experiments performed with a femtosecond (fs) laser source. The TPA cross-section of B1 is 38 GM . It was found that compound B1 has well potential in 2 PF imaging techniques and good pH fluorescence probe performance.Secondly, we designed two kinds of dendrimers (B2, B3) with triphenylamine as the core and pyridin-2,6-dicarboxylate for electron-withdrawing group . Their structures have been confirmed. Experimental results show that, the increase of molecular branch number in the molecular the TPA cross-sections are much larger. The TPA cross-section of B2 and B3 are 208GM and 376GM,respectively. They are very good application prospect.
