The hydraulic support is one of the most important equipments for the mechanized mining method. With the development of the fully mechanized mining technology, the requirements for the hydraulic support design are becoming higher and higher. The requirements have not only the high performance and reliability but also the light weight on possibility.This thesis introduces systematically the design technology of hydraulic support and puts the four-bar mechanism design of the hydraulic impact on focus. The four-bar mechanism kinetic trajectory and bearing force are analyzed on the basis of graphing optimization of four-bar mechanism. The plane force model of shield support is established and the four-bar mechanism optimization method is improved. The optimal design of four-bar mechanism kinetic trajectory and bearing force are finished. The reasonable design parameters are obtained.The design platform framework of the hydraulic support is constructed.Based on creating the 3-D models of parts which are assembled by the SolidEdge, the geometric model of the whole hydraulic support is built in the platform established. The simulation and interference analysis are applied to hydraulic support by the virtual prototype. The structural analysis to the key components of the hydraulic support is made by using the finite element analysis software COSMOS. The analytic results can fulfill the design requirements by modifing the structural dimensions of components and parts.According to the structural analysis of the hydraulic support, the key components of caving shield are optimized on structure. The cost of a hydraulic support is reduced and its benifit is improved.Finally as an example, the shield support ZY9400/28/62 is designed. The modeling, analyzing and assembling are performed on the design platform of hydraulic support. The structure of caving shield is optimized.The design platform is designed reasonably and is used conveniently. It has the higher generalization and application value.
