Thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPE) is used as reinforce additive of gun propellant to improve mechanical properties, especially at low temperature. TPE has lesser effect on combustion property and energy performance of propellants. However, study of influences on propellant's long time storage after adding TPE is rare. In this study, high energy and high strength nitramine propellant and TEGN gun propellant are prepared. And fast-speed aging experiment under high temperature is conducted, after that, mechanical property at low temperature and combustion property of propellant are measured through correlated experiments, such as Closed Bomb Test (CBT). According to changes of mechanical property and combustion property of propellant after aging, the stability of long time storage of high energy and high strength nitramine propellant and TEGN gun propellant is studied, which will supply basement for accelerating application of this kind of propellant.Results show that TPE can improve mechanical property of propellant at low temperature, as well as aging samples. Long time storage at high temperature has certain effect on mechanical property of propellant. After aging, impact intension and pressure stress of part of samples are increased or increased and then decreased, while strain has lesser change. Therefore, TPE adding to the propellant has little effect on mechanic property of the aged sample and their base sample.Propellant force reduces when content of TPE is increasing, while coefficient of burning rate (u1) and pressure exponent (n) increase. After fast-speed aging at high temperature, propellant force and n decrease slightly, while u1 increases a little degree. Compared to propellants with no TPE, n and u1 of propellant containing TPE is changing sharply before and after aging.Considered changes of mechanical property, combustion property and energy performance of propellant in this study, a conclusion is acquired that TPE can improve mechanical property of propellant and has less effect on it's long time storage, so TPE is considered to be a promising reinforcer applied to propellant.
