High energy and high strength are requirements of modern barrel weapons,especially high loading density and high pressure weapons for gun propellants.While keeping the high energy,the mechanical properties of gun propellants are improved by adding a small amount of CNFs on the basis of high energy TEDGN gun propellant and using NGEC replced part of NC in double base and high energy nitramine gun propellant.The gun propellant samples with different CNFs contents and different NGEC contents were prepared.The effects of the contents of CNFs and NGEC on the mechanical properties of the high energy gun propellants are investigated by means of impact test,compression test and tensile test.The combustion performances of the high-energy gun propellants with different contents of CNFs and NGEC contents are investigated by closed-bomb tests,and the combustion laws of these gun propellants are analyzed.Combining the results of differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)tests,the thermal decompositions of high-energy gun propellants with CNFs and NGEC are analyzed.The results show that with the increasing content of CNFs,tensile strength of the high energy TEDGN gun propellants increases,the impact strength and compressive strength increase first and then decrease,the power force increases and the burning rate decreases.The low temperature impact strength,compressive strength and tensile strength of the samples with 0.5%CNFs is 30.4%,8.1%and 11.8%higher than these of the samples with none CNFs respectively.The thermal decomposition performance of high energy TEGDN propellant was less affected by adding a small amount of CNFs.With the increasing content of NGEC,the impact strength of double base and high energy nitramine gun propellants increases,the compressive strength and tensile strength decreases,the power force increases and the burning rate increases.The low temperature impact strength,compressive strength and tensile strength of double base gun propellants with 40%NGEC is 17.1%,-7.4%and-6.7%higher than double base gun propellants respectively.The low temperature impact strength,compressive strength and tensile strength of high energy nitramine gun propellants with 40%NGEC is 17.1%,-7.4%and-6.7%higher than high energy nitramine gun propellants respectively.The exothermic decomposition peaks of double base and high energy nitramine gun propellants containing NGEC gradually postponed with the increasing content of NGEC.When 0.5%CNFs is added to the double base gun propellant with 40%NGEC,the mechanical properties of the gun propellant increase,the energy and combustion properties were less affected. |
