To improve the combustion of new high energy azidonitramine propellant (DA-propellant), a new technology of surface deterrent was discussed. Based on high plasticizer concentration(wt%>35%) of DA propellant, the deterrent’s anti-migration problem could be effectively solved by small molecule precursor permeating into propellant to form concentration gradients, and then precursor reacted with the composition of DA propellant. DA grain propellant was deterred by the way of Wet deterring technology and was modified by closed bomb technique to investigate their combustion property and long-storage stability. The compatibility and stability between deterrent and DA propellant was characterized with DSC and Microscope. Deterrent structure was tested by FTIR and TG and the concentration of deterrent was tested by UV. Following are the conclusions of the study.(1) Based on the1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction, a multiple acetylene-terminated compound TPTM and NPA were introduced as the deterrent precursor. The reactivity between TPTM and DIANP or in DA propellant was characterized. As a result, they could react at a lower temperature (50℃). Besides, the reaction was completed when the mass ratio was1:1and form polytriazole network. Polytriazole network and DA propellant have good physics and chemistry compatibility, and the mixture’s stability was increased.(2) The suitable processes of TPTM have been chosed:the deterred temperature is60℃and the deterred time is1h, and then deterred propellant was stoved in the60℃oven for24h. TPTM was used as a deterrent precursor, and the other two deterrents PPA and PVP were used as the comparative ones. The results showed, It didn’t have any effect of DA-propellant deterred by PVP. The DA-propellant deterred by PPA had progressive combustion, but it had large loss of energy, surface properties and Ignition performance were very poor. The DA-propellant deterred by TPTM were good progressive combustion and Ignition performance, less energy loss. TPTM show better deterring effect for DA propellant. Heat accelerated aging test demonstrated that there was no change in combustion of propellant before and after. It had excellent long-storage stability of DA-propellant deterred by TPTM and NPA. The multiple acetylene-terminated compound were applied to DA propellant as deterrent’s precursor.(3) The thickness of TPTM deterrent layer was investigated by theoretical calculation and actual measurement, the results were about0.2mm-0.25mm, and it didn’t had any change by ageing test. Deterrent’s structure were tested by FTIR and TG. It proved that they were the same substance. The concentration of DIANP was tested by UV, and the adsorption quantity of TPTM was2.3%, conformed to the result of weight.
