Tungsten (W) is a very important strategic metal, and widely used in industrial, civil, military and other fields. So,it is well known as the "industrial teeth".The tungsten reserve in china occupies the first in the world, but most of tungsten mineral ores have low grades with much accompanying elements which cause the difficulties of beneficiation and hydrometallurgy. Thus it is very necessary to develop a technology to treat this low-grade complex ore for tungsten industry. And this technology also can increase the recovery of tungsten in mineral process and the comprehensive utilization of ore.Considering the characteristics of China's tungsten resources and making full use of existing technical equipment in China tungsten industry, the purpose of this work is to investigate and develop a novel process to extract W from low-grade tungsten mineral ore. Hence the developed process should be characterized with lower energy consumption, higher purity APT and greater recovery of Win order to lead tungsten industry into a resource-saving road.Combining with the practical experience of industrial NaOH decomposition, this study focuses on the affecting factors such as liquid-solid ratio, alkali concentration after decomposition during the process of ore decomposition. The results are as follows, liquid-solid ratio 1:1,alkaline concentration after decomposition 350g/L and reaction temperature 170℃.In the process of separation between tungsten and molybdenum, the adsorption behavior of MoS42- by metallic sulphide is studied. This metallic sulphide is taken from the slag of removal molybdenum and its cycle adsorption capability is also investigated.Under the optimize conditions gotten from the laboratory scale's experiments, we carried out industrialized experiments. In the production process, the average ore grade of tungsten is 25.2%.99.3% of tungsten can be leached, and 96.9% of tungsten and more than 90% of molybdenum can be recovered in the total process.
