Sodium alginate/carboxymethyl chitosan blended fiber was spinned via the wet spinning process. Researched the compatibility of sodium alginate and carboxymethyl chitosan and the rheology of their solution. And anlyzed the impact of different spinning conditions on the fiber's mechanical properties. Moreover, the poformance of the fiber was characterized by Infrared spectroscopy, SEM, X-diffraction, TGA, etc.The optimum spinning process is:the total concentration 3.5%, content of carboxymethyl chitosan 15%, coagulation concentration of calcium chloride 5%, coagulation temperature 40℃, and coagulation temperature 2mintues. Fiber spinned under the optimum spinning process has desirable properties, whose strength is 19.12cN/tex. And the absorptive capacity to normal saline is the best. Contrast to calcium alginate fiber, the blend fiber has a certain bacteriostasis, while the thermal stability and the K/S value after dyed decrease.Sodium alginate/water-soluble chitosan composite fiber was prepared sodium alginate solution coated by water-soluble chitosan in coagulation bath via wet spinning process. Studied the influence of concentrations of CaCl2 and water-soluble chitosan in coagulation, coagulation temperature and time on the fiber's mechanical properties. Tested the fiber's infrared spectroscopy, micro-morphology, thermal properties, absorption properties, antibacterial properties and dyeing properties.The optimum spinning conditions of sodium alginate/water-soluble chitosan composite fibers are:the concentration of sodium alginate spinning solution 3.5%, blending coagulation bath within 7% calcium chloride and 1.5% water-soluble chitosan, temperature 20-25℃, coagulation time 3min. The strength of the fiber is 20.58cN/tex. The absorptive capacity to normal saline is the best. The composite fiber has excellent antibacterial ability, while the thermal stability and the K/S value after dyed decrease.
