Under the background ofφ420/1120×1900mm single stand four high aluminum strip cold mill, the foundmental of hydraulic gap control is studied. Based on the situation of site, a detailed auto gauge control scheme is given. Under the circumstances of pure lag in feedback control system and the imprecision of the controlled object model, a fuzzy control system with Smith predictor is designed using the fuzzy logic and pure lag compensation theory and simulated using MATLAB. The main work and results are as follows:1) The development of Aluminum strip cold mill of domestic and overseas is introduced. There is a higher level of control technology on high-quality aluminum strip rolling on abroad. Because of behind of equip technology, there is a bigger gap between developed country and our country. While it has had a lot of achievements in this field, there are many questions to answer in practical appliance.2) The auxiliary control system of single-stand four-high aluminum strip cold mill is lucubrated. And the electric system designing, programming and field setup and debugging are finished. The automatic control include payoff coil loading; rewind coil unlod; unload, convey and loading of core; passline adjustment and the work roll changeing etc..3) The principles of hydraulic position control and roll force control are particular described. Based on the foundmental of AGC and the situation of site, a suitable AGC project is given, and each part of the project is especially analysised.4) Under the circumstances of pure lag in feedback control system and the imprecision of the controlled object model, the fuzzy logic and pure lag compensation theory is used to design a fuzzy control system with Smith predictor. By the Simulink toolbox of MATLAB, the system has been simulated.As the schedule of the program, the gauge control system has not site debugged.The research results in the paper are useful auto control system of Aluminum strip cold mill. They are practical and can be applied in similar project. Additional, there is also a breakthrough in investigation of auto gauge control.
