Along with the increased investment in education and college enrollment significantly in our country, the construction projects of universities' gymnasiums are on the rise. Universities' swimming gymnasiums are mainly used for classroom teaching, so the speech of swimming gymnasiums has high requirements for clarity which is closely related to reverberation time T60,clarity D50 and sound pressure level SPL of swimming gymnasiums. The ceiling of the swimming gymnasium is made of the large-scale steel grid, the floor and enclosure are covered by waterproof brick, and the teaching activeties of students are in water, these situations mentioned above make the reverberation time of swimming gymnasium too long and the speech clarity poor, which affect the effect of classroom teaching, so controlling the acoustics of swimming gymnasium is a difficulty to be resolved urgently.In this paper, we consider the swimming gymnasium of the Ocean University of China as research object, using computer approach based-on ODEON to simulate sound field. According to the special humid environment of universities' swimming gymnasiums, the paper gives three kinds of moistureproof and sound-absorption structures:inorganic fibers with cladding layer, moistureproof and sound-absorption structure; metal fibers moistureproof and sound-absorption structure; and organic fibers moistureproof and sound-absorption structure, and the paper mentions three structures' main properties such as the sound-absorption, the moistureproof, the anti-aging and cost. With the comparing these main properties of three structures, we finally select inorganic fibers with cladding layer, moistureproof and sound-absorption structure which is PVF film cladding glass board used as the moistureproof, sound-absorption structure of the walls and ceiling of swimming gymnasium.We have established the three-dimensional model of the swimming gymnasium based-on ODEON software. The large-scale steel grid of the swimming gymnasium is made of spherical joints and steel poles, and the steel grid's structure is very complex. In face of this difficulty, we have successfully completed the modeling work of large-scale steel grid by rotating the coordinates.We put forward there designs which affect the acoustics of the swimming gymnasium:how does the large-scale steel grid at the top of the swimming gymnasium affect the acoustics; how do the enclosure of the swimming gymnasium with and without cavity affect the acoustics; how do different sound source emission points affect the acoustics. We respectively analyse the reverberation time T60, clarity D50 and sound pressure level SPL of three designs, and propose sound quality optimization scheme, which is used to design and construct the swimming gymnasium' accoustics.This paper provides the actual measurement parameters of the swimming gymnasium, which are gained by the PULSE measurement system, and the results show that the sound quality parameters of the swimming gymnasium keep consistent with expected analog ones. At last, teachers and students propose the praise to the swimming gymnasium's acoustics, after the actual classroom teaching test.
