The traffic jam has become a very troublesome issue of human life. The planar Intersection is the main origin to this phenomenon as the hub and bottleneck. However the existence of the left-turn traffic flow made the LOS down and prompted traffic congestions. How to separate the traffic conflict between left and through flows effectively is always the research topic to traffic engineering academics.To the reviewed, the method of solve this conflict is either the space separation or the time division. For space separation, to build overpass is the most cost-effective method but has much cost in return; for time division, often means the traffic signal control, is invalid when the Intersection become over saturated; Other alternatives such as left-turn restrictions, U turns, bypassing transferred the traffic load to other sections or intersections.So the engineers started to taste several unconventional studies to left-turns. Professor Francisco Mier raised CFI scheme also called XDL in 1987.I raised a new method which is the reverse sequence to the XDL and based on it. I gave it a new name called LDX. My paper simplified the main Intersection to a standard case: planar crossing Intersection, standard cars, with no bicycles, with pedestrians. This new method has its own characteristic and systems. LDX also build some secondary Intersections at the upper, but the position of displaced left-turn lane (or bay) is different. The displaced left-turn Lane which is called left-turn crossover waiting bay is build at the downstream of the secondary Intersection and reached the main Intersection. The left-turn vehicles at main Intersection turn as conventional track and enter the bay with waiting; they can cross the street mid-line when the secondary Intersection didn't work in order to resume the normal travel. LDX scheme can give the XDL a good supplementary at channelization. And LDX can make a wonderful coordination with conventional 4 phases Intersection so that it can ease the traffic load more. XDL can not do this.This paper researched the parameter of the LDX based on XDL; I defined two new words for the concept of "left-turn crossover waiting bay" and "left-turn crossing ribbon". I also did some analysis for the traffic signal control, the Capacity, the dally and gave some formulas.With the analysis and calculation, I can prove the conclusion as supposed.
