Gate as an important component of hydropower station,its intelligent,automation,digital technology has become very critical. With the rapid development of science and technology,design of a high reliability strong anti-interference, hign control precision,user-friendly control system has been necessary and urgent. Among the gates in the hydropower station,the control requirements of fast gate are the most difficult, and fast gate is the last line of safety defense of hydropower turbine,so design and study of a stable and reliable and technologically advance control system of gate has been very important.In this paper, fast gate of hydropower station was the object of design and research,the entire gate control system consists of two parts,it has been devided into lower computer control system and upper computer monitoring system. Under the hardware component of lower control system,using the absolute optical Encoder, load sensors, power meter as the data collection sensors and PLC as a processor,the control system collected the function of measurement,display contrl and the others into one,and connected to HMI to display the real-time parameters (gate opening, system load, direct load,etc.),while HMI can set the system parameter such as the rated current,rated power,etc.The software of lower control system,using PLC programming software,programe and achieve protection and precise control. Through Modbus communication protocol the lower control system greatly simplifie the system structure.The upper monitoring system uses industrial computer as hareware and Forcecontrol6.1 as a development tool.The upper monitoring system and the lower control system all use Modbus communication portocol and the other RS-485 interface of PLC. The monitoring system of gate can display the gate opening,the system load,direct load and other important real-time parameter, the dynamic simulation display of gate,sound and light alarm function, gate up and down and stop control function, system parameter setting function. At the same time, the upper gate montoring system increased laser range height finder calibration system,which made the gate opening to achieve mm-level measurement accuracy.The intelligent control system has been used in Manry power station of Yunnan province,the control system can have fast and reliable data collection,after the order is given within ls,the gate has reliable action and the display of real-time height of gate opening in HMI, the contrast error is within±0.02%. In addition, due to the use of the function of the zero protection and limit protection and quantitative movement, it reduces the insecurity of manual operation, and labor intensity, there are more obvious economic benefits.According to the on-site operation,this control system can achieve the goals of design withadvance hardware, reliable software, good control and protection function,high precision, better anti-interference ability...
