With the rapid development of automation, computer networks and sensor technology, hydrological forecasting system has been gradually automated management, play a significant role in the country’s water resources mobilization, flood protection and other fields. Hydrological forecasting system for gate control subsystem is critical to bear the reservoir water storage, flood control, irrigation, water supply, power generation and other tasks, is an important part of the use of water resources to achieve economic, on the reservoir dam itself and downstream lives and property security plays an important role at the same time. But in the traditional gate hoist control system, digital, intelligent, automation of low degree, installation and debugging is complex, data information acquisition accuracy and gate control flexibility, rapid and so need to be improved at the time of gate operation. The gate system before running intelligent realization of the data acquisition equipment communication parameters setting and debugging; running in the mid-term, the communication system feedback back gate control system real-time abnormal parameter signal, realizes the shutdown protection and self-diagnosis function; in the latter part of the operation, realizing system maintenance and management in engineering calibration way. The gate hoist control system achieves authentically the requirement of intelligent measurement and control.Combining with the engineering practice in this paper, siting for the study of the background to the Gate Control System of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering.System uses Siemens programmable logic controller to realize local gate hoist control; absolute type encoder collects gate opening; Multifunction Network Power Meter detects system power parameters; pressure sensor measures the direct load when gate operation; DC voltage sensor measures electric energy that braking resistor of transducer feedback. Through its own communication port P0RT1, PLC and various data acquisition slave station unit Communicate with Modbus protocol, the master station PLC sends out a query command after the slave station return data and stored into PLC register unit; through its own communication port POTRO, PLC and local monitoring center touch screen achieve SIEMENS special communication protocol PPI/MPI; PLC and PC configuration software communicate with Ethernet expansion module CP243-1. PC and touch screen can complete the gate control, real-time data monitoring, data counting and querying,fault alarming, report printing, self-diagnosis and engineering project calibrating function by way of PLC. Local and remote management can be intuitively clearly understanding of the system operation.The paper focuses on the gate winch hoist control system realize intelligent monitoring and controlling system requirements, intelligent system for non-professional and technical personnel can adjust and control from commissioning debugging to maintenance stage. Mainly in self-diagnosis and calibration etc.Gate commissioning phase, due to the control cabinet’s electrical equipment and various data acquisition terminal devices’ wiring, communications parameter settings may exist errors, the system need to be amended before operation; during the gate operation stage, equipment aging and damage is possible to occur, causing some problems such as communication error code, communication delay, no communication, the basic control and data monitoring can not be achieved, on the corresponding intelligent error correction software prompts the user and to provide basic solutions, to be users deal with related issues, it is necessary to Program corresponding self-diagnosis software in the man-machine interaction interface to Prompt the user, to provide basic solutions, the system return to normal operation until the users deal with related issues; the gate system maintenance stage, with the deformation of the wire rope increasing, the friction of gate running track decreasing, the change of the geometric parameters of the system, the pressure sensor damaging and other problems, managers can use touch screen or PC configuration software to realize digital upper and lower limit, the gate rising or falling opening, system load and direct load engineering calibration. The changes of gate opening and load directly affect to deal with some emergencies, for example, clamping stagnation, fast speed and derailment, obstruction, overrun and other exception information, it is directly related to system reliability and security. The self-diagnosis and engineering calibration method is also suitable for hydrological forecasting other subsystems.At the end of paper, according to the scene debugging experience, analysis and researchs the gate winch hoist control system’s hardware and software anti-interference measures. And testing gate control system operation at the stage of whole process from the power-on initialization debugging to maintenance at a later stage in field.The system’s reliability, stability and the degree of intelligencemeet meet the requirements in water conservancy and hydropower project site.
