Electric vehicle (EV) which based on electrical power has a prospect development with its outstanding value that zero release and no pollution. The driving motor and its control system are very important parts of EV. Direct Torque Control (DTC) in AC motor on EV based on Digital Signal Processor (DSP) is one of the new technologies in high-performance machinery velocity modulationThis paper takes a research on AC motor driving controller of EV, and control EV driving controller with Direct Torque Control, then develop a suit of device to control AC motor, which takes microprocessor as a core, and has suitable control algorithm, and takes a research on its frame and capability accounting the actual state of EV in this paper. The main contents are as follows:First of all, this paper takes enumeration on advantage and disadvantage of a variety of motors, microprocessors and control programs. Based on the characteristics of EV and its needs of performance targets, this paper select the appropriate motor (AC induction motor), microprocessor (TMS320F2812 in DSP), and control method (DTC) after comparing advantages and disadvantages in various motors, microprocessor and control method.Secondly, this paper use analysis method of the space vectors to analyze basic principles and algorithm of DTC. And then take a establishment of flux and torque module to study DTC strategy. In the control strategy, this paper minimize error in the way that using different flux modules in high-speed or low-speed of motor, and transit from high-speed to low-speed by using a hybrid flux module. Then we simulate it in MATLAB to verify DTC, and we achieved a good control effect. At the end, based on TMS320F2812, this paper turns the simulation into C code directly by using Real Time Workshop (RTW) in MATLAB, and takes an operation in environment which developed by TI company (Code Composer Studio). This paper achieves the whole control debug experiment in AC motor. The program runs stability, the result verify the reliability of system circuit of the hardware. It has a great value by providing experiences and learning to achieve DTC on EV with TMS320F2812.
