In order to complete the computer aided creative design of mechanical systems by utilizing computer's strong capability of processing and storing information, basic operation actions(BOAs) are adopted to describe the functions of electromechanical products in existed patents, and then through simulating the creative thinking process of human beings such as element exchange and variation under the support of the quotient space theory, the obtained BOA directed network is dynamically partitioned and the calculation of synthesis and variation is acted on nodes and node groups. Thus the creativity in the function layer of the conceptual design can successfully be realized. During the partition process, the sequential relationships are described by semi-order relationships and then the BOA network is partitioned with the hierarchical partition method of the quotient space theory according to order-preservation principle so that the obtained creative schemes can meet the order-preservation requirements. By using the quotient space synthesis method in the quotient space theory, synthesis calculation is taken upon the sequential relationship quotient space and the spatial relationship quotient space of BOAs to ensure the obtained functional creative schemes meet the sequential relationships as well as the spatial relationships. The synthesis and variation creative method digs out creative function schemes by implementing synthesis and variation to one or multiple BOAs which meet the synthesis requirements and variation requirements only if the system function don't change.The creative function schemes, which are obtained in the function creative stage and represented by BOA groups, are transformed into actuator schemes through matching from BOAs to functions and functions to actuators. During calculation, the BOA groups are described by way of character encoding and similarly, functions of actuators in the database are encoded under certain rules. Ultimately, the match between actuators and BOA groups are completed by string matching algorithm. On the basis of obtaining actuator schemes by matching, different driving schemes can be chosen according to demand. According to specific driving scheme, proper power structures and transmission structures are chosen to match the execution system to obtain the final creative structural design scheme.The software platform for creative design is constructed by Visual C++ and Access.
