The reciprocating refrigeration compressor is a kind of positive-displacement compressor, one of the most essential parts of the compression cycle. The valve, the "heart" of the compressor, is one of the most important components of the compressor. The compressor's performance greatly depends on the valves, therefore, to improve the compressor's performance, the optimization design for the valves is absolutely necessary.This thesis investigated refrigeration coefficient of totally enclosed piston refrigerating compressor from theory study, numerical simulation and experiment study. In theory study, the basic structure, the principle of work and the working process of piston refrigerating compressor are analyzed, and the influence on the refrigeration coefficient of piston refrigerating compressor by clearance volume is analyzed especially. The refrigeration coefficient can been enhanced through reducing the thickness of valve plate of piston refrigerating compressor with plate theory and material mechanics in theory. In the aspect of numerical simulation, this thesis established the calculation model of finite element of valve plate and did the statics analysis for valve plate of different thickness with ANSYS software. In experimental study, this thesis made experiments for valve plate of different thickness, and obtained that the piston refrigerating compressor had different refrigeration coefficient with valve plate of different thickness. From the results of the study, we can know that reducing the thickness of valve plate could enhance refrigeration coefficient of piston refrigerating compressor, which offered helpful reference for further study on the highly efficiency, high reliability piston refrigerating compressor.
