Baotou regional power grid which is in the middle of West Inner Mongolia,is the largest area in West Inner Mongolia Power Grid.Baotou Power network is mainly transfering power to the Baotou city and BaiYun, two mines of ShiGuai t,and JiuYuan, BaiYun, TuYou, GuYang.DaMao counties in the district. In 2009, Baotou power grid added new load unit, transmission line, Which resulting in short-circuit current over rating. In this thesis,we proposed four solutions to reduce short-circuit current,and carried out detailed calculations of each proposed program. Especially, We calculated transient stability and transmission flow in extreme way on which to solve excessive short-circuit current issue.and targeted some of the more serious system failures for thetransient stability calculation, by calculating a detailed analysis of Baotou Grid in typical operating mode of the security and stability.
