Study On The Countermeasure Of Safety Improvement In The Continuous Long And Steep Downgrade Of Qinghai

Continuous long and steep downgrade segment is a point where accident often happened. The safety of transportation and its management method on long and steep downgrade segment is concerned. With the transportation condition of continuous long and steep downgrade segment, the following facilities are developed:the transportation engineering facilities, the facilities of service and the passive safety devices. Based on the character and statistic analysis of the traffic accident on long and steep downgrade segment in Qinghai province, the transportation engineering facilities, the facilities of service and the passive safety devices are studied in this article.In this article, the study and application condition of shoulder rumble strips of American are introduced. And combined with the theories calculation,the highway design standard in our country and the United States, the design parameter of our country is established. Basing on analyzing the emergency escape ramps on the principle of setting in and out our country's study, this article collects the brake temperature and establishes the model between the brake temperature of truck with downgrade gradient, the distance from the top of the slope the truck operating speed and the weight of truck on continuous long and steep downgrade segment. This paper establishes the principle of setting up emergency escape ramps according to the brake heat fade temperature confirmed and considering the out-of-control accidents on the long and steep downgrade segment. Moreover according to our correlative standards, it's also summarizes in this article how to setting up the transportation engineering facilities and the facilities of service. Based on this study, the facilities of Huang Dao Road in Qinghai province are suggested.
