With the development of highway construction, vehicle operation safety is an important factor to restrict road construction and development. Especially in the mountainous terrain continuous descent is becomed a high incidence of road accidents. However there are no further systematic safety assessment and the corresponding transformation after highway completed. This condition make the roads safety operating environment in poor condition and show some of the outstanding security issues particularly in the western region roads due to the natural environment. This paper aim at rate of traffic accidents about heavy trucks in this section higher than other section carried out a continuous descent investigations and experiments and be studied the relationship between braking performance accidents. On the basis of research conclusions this paper combined engine practice research corresponding prevention measures.By investigating accidents of certain roads section and analyzing statistics results are summed up the laws of traffic accident types of vehicles, vehicle distribution, the overloaded situation, technical conditions and the main reason for an accident in a continuous long steep downgrade section. Found models of driver stalls used and speed controlled in a continuous long steep downgrade section.2km or 3km are proposed as a vertical section of indicators to descript the average slope parameter to study the relationship between accident rates and the vertical gradient and obtain laws in them.Through a large number of bench experiments in lab getting results and using MATLAB software and the least-squares method of data preparation and analysis, finite element method and ANSYS software established mathematical model of a heavy-duty vehicle brake temperature. Simulation analysis and experimental results showed that three-dimensional finite element thermal analysis of drum brake model can be used drum brakes Analysis of temperature rise characteristics. On the basic of theoretical analysis and experimental validation presented truck braking efficiency of temperature control point for the 290-300C°and explore a truck brake system temperature rise calculation software. Verify models of brake temperature and brake power through actual road tests on typical continuous long steep downgrade section. On the basic of analyzed the relationship among brake temperature and brake power and the continuous power, gear and speed, braking recession model has been established under an joint role of ongoing braking and the main brake. In the analysis of different mode of operation of vehicles in continuous descent, study accident prevention measures about the settings of road safety facilities and hedge lane settings.
