This paper introduces the Gaussian quadrature method for measuring voltage using three electric field sensors. This novel optic voltage transducer(OVT) deduces voltage value by the quadrature method with limited electrical field sensors, and overcomes a number of shortcomings of the traditional voltage transducer. This paper presents the theory of new OVT, and analyzes the numerical calculation method of voltage. Also, software ANSYS of finite element numerical analysis is used to obtain the axial electric field of the OVT in order to calculate voltage. Gauss integration method is used to calculate voltage. The principle of the Gauss integration is derived. For a specific distribution of axial electric field in OVT, the Gauss quadrature method could be used to calculate the coordinate and weight value of per electric field sensor. Check the accuracy of Gauss quadrature method Gauss- Lerangde method and Newton-Cotes method without representative electromagnetism disturbance. From the simulation and calculation results, it is concluded that only the Gaussian quadrature method can meet 0.2% accuracy class with three sensors. Check the accuracy of Gauss quadrature method Lerangde method and Newton-Cotes method with representative electromagnetism disturbance, only the Gaussian quadrature method can meet 0.2% accuracy class. So it could be more efficient on the high-voltage measurement.
