Light armored car is playing a more and more important role in modern wars with its excellent mobile operations and relative prominent firepower and protection level. So its survivability on the battle field is of great importance. This paper research on the survivability and provides the associated technical support and reference to designers.This subject illustrates the classification, character and the main threats on the battle field of the light armored car. According to the principle of system theory , Delphi method and analytic hierarchy process is used to set up the evaluation index system, also index weight is established basing on Fuzzy AHP. After we determine the index weight towards ZBD-04 type step combat tank in the crossing strait and landing combat, it can be concluded that the factor of battlefield environment takes slightly larger proportion than the factor of the vehicles efficacy themselves,besides both of them are more important than the support capability of battlefield. Grey cluster assessment is used to build security evaluation model, besides, in a ocean crossing military conflict, evaluation index system is marked by experts. In this paper, a ZBD-04 infantry fighting vehicle is preliminary evaluated in virtual battle environment, and then, the evaluation results are analyzed. According to the evaluation, we come to the conclusion that the inadequate battlefield survivability of modified step combat tank. The defective vehicles efficacy themselves, and severe environment of vehicle tactics, which mainly embody in the aspects of insignificancy of vehicle's protective ability, informatization ability and the high lever of military intervention of some countries.Basing on the summary of preceding achievements, the topic make great efforts to research on the new method of battlefield safety-evaluation. I hope that though the reach of this dissertation, it can help to improve the survival ability of light armored car.
