Amphibious armored vehicles, with the brilliant maneuvering on the land, and the rabidity and concealment on the water, and the unique trafficability on the shore, is of great importance whether in the civilian area or in the military.Based on the multi-body dynamics, a virtual model of a certain type of amphibious armored vehicle was established. The analysis and simulation to the action part of the amphibious armored vehicle were performed, which provided some theoretical guidance to the evaluation of the maneuverability and optimal design of the driving device. The main contents of this research are as follows:1. The experimental prototype was produced. To further validate the dynamic analysis based on ADAMS/ATV, a prototype of the tracked vehicle was produced and experiments performed. The results proved that it is feasible and reliable to adapt virtual reality methods to analyzing the performance of the amphibious armored vehicle.2. The analysis and simulations of the trafficability of the vehicle including climbing the slope, side tilting, climbing the vertical wall and trench crossing on the hard ground were carried out. This could truly reflect the actual driving conditions of the vehicle and can reduce the number of real testing of the vehicle and improve the testing reliability.3. The analysis and simulations of the trafficability on the soft ground was done. The analysis and simulations showed that the vehicle parameters are having great impact of the trafficability on the soft ground, and it provides some guidance in improving the trafficability of the vehicle on the soft ground.4. The analysis and simulations of the track off wheel, which is being of great importance to the improvements of the driving device and the reliability of the track, were implemented. Track off wheel were divided into upper track off and lower track off.Through the kinetic analysis and simulations of the mechanical devices of the amphibious armored vehicle, the overall walking performance of the vehicle was predicted and evaluated, and then the structural design and dynamic performance of the vehicle could be improved.
