As a new technology of HAVC, Underfloor Air-conditioning System has been used more and more widely in various kinds of buildings with its energy efficiency and comfort. Researchers have accumulated much experience about this system in practice in the world, but there is no uniform standard in designing of the system.. The research about the plenum chamber with complex structure is not too much. The main role of plenum chamber is to smooth airflow, and the airflow distribution in the plenum chamber has significant impact on air quality and thermal comfort in the indoor environment. So, it is necessary to simulate and predict the airflow organization in plenum chamber and the indoor environment.This is no doubt to set the important reference value to improve the design and construction of the Underfloor Air-conditioning System. Taking a theater for example, this article studied the airflow organization and thermal comfort in Large static pressure box and the district staff activities with the use of computational fluid dynamics CFD software.The mathematical model of the complex structed plenum was established,The grids in small size of the structure in the model and flow rate of variation in air supply tube under seat were refined;Combination with good heat preservation inside of plenum chamber,This article ignored the heat loss;Standard k-s turbulence model and simple algorithm were used;In order to enable the full development of turbulence flow,the exhaust airs at the exit have been calculated to expand the domain of the pre-treatment.The velocity and static pressure distribution inside of the plenum was obtained by using FLUENT,and was analyzed;A variety of reasonable optimization methods were proposed and calculated,and the best air supply method was obtained.A theatre was simulated;The seats and human bodies were simplified based on actual situation;Standard k-εturbulence model and Simple algorithms were used, the effects of buoyancy considered,while Boussinesq assumption was used; The distribution of velocity, temperature, mean age of air and thermal comfort index PPD-PMV were obtained with FLUENT.The simulation results obtained showed the selected model of the theater which has used was reasonable,also the results has important reference value on improving the design of the airflow organization and in plenum chamber and district staff activities.
