Hybrid energy storage system which integrated battery and ultra-capacitor, supplies the power that overcome the battery power deficiencies and the ultra-capacitor energy limit, has become a feasible and sustainable development of energy efficient programs, and is widely used in military and aviation, civilian industry and other fields.Based on in-depth understanding of hybrid power characteristics of batteries and ultra-capacitors, a hybrid energy storage is developed under the "load shifting" to meet the application energy requirements related to the battery pack and power matching combination of ultra-capacitors, and is optimized the control of the overall power to achieve optimal energy efficiency targets. The main contents include: A study of the systems-related composition and device characteristics, and modeling lithium battery and ultra-capacitor with its effective state of charge(SOC) estimates are illustrated in the first part of the dissertation, also the DC-DC converter topology and its model is presented, a appropriate DC-DC converter and topology is selected.According to the needs of working condition, an energy storage system combined battery with ultra-capacitors is designed to match the project requirements of power and energy demand.Under the "load shifting" idea, three types of control strategies of hybrid energy storage management are presented. Based on the depth of research of the various control technologies, a strategy based on filter and PID control is designed to protect the battery effectively, extend battery life, enhance the ultra-capacitor utilization ratio and improve energy efficiency. With the implementation of the proposed Pseudo PID algorithm, the output voltage is efficiently stabilizing, the oscillation and overshoot are under control, and the power of the system is also regulated.The proposed development is verified meeting the requirements of the entire system and achieving the desired objectives by simulation.
