As a favorable lateral loading-resisting system, steel plate shear walls (SPSW) were suitable for multi-story or high-rise building in highly seismic regions for higher lateral stiffness, excellent ductility and better energy dissipation capacity.Based on the diagonal tension strips model of SPSW in the two vertical directions, using the software SAP2000,the force and deformation performance of moment-resisting steel-frame SPSW system under the different earthquake magnitude are investigated through inelastic dynamic analysis, the main contents of this dissertation are the followings:(1) The maximum story shears and maximum story drift angle under the different earthquake magnitude are obtained from the inelastic dynamic time-history analysis. At the same time, the individual bearing story shear proportions and overturning moment percent of shear plate and frame are investigated.(2) By means of studying the story drift angle and horizontal displacement, the deformation characteristic curves of shear plate and frame are derived and defined. The curves are then compared and the relationship between inner force and deformation of the structure under earthquake action is final show in this paper.(3) The formulas of story shear distribution for seismic design are given from nonlinear time-history analysis.
