This paper is completed through the research on an item of Shanghai Dawn Project-Technological Research on Network Monitoring of Remote Information And Information Mergence, combined with the research topic of a harbour company of Shanghai-the information remote monitoring system for mechanical and electrical equipment of large bridge cranes. Chapter One, An Introduction, mainly introduces the degree to which the electric control system of modem harbour cranes is modernizes and its development, and having analysed the main principle of the control system for modem harbour equipment and the four-step-structure mode for the modernized harbour management and control based on network and information technology, it presents the total solution to the remote diagnosis of harbour equipment as well as its character. Chapter Two introduces the structure, distribution and the main functions of Yaskawa electric control system of the 50T-50M movable cranes belonging to a Shanghai harbour company, and presents the technological structure for practical use of the remote monitoring of movable cranes. CP-316H is the PLC controller for 50T-50M bridge cranes electric control system. Chapter Three analyses in detail the type of data of CP-316H and the type of register and their characters, as well as CP-316H program structure, and studies the minimized experiment device based on CP-3l6Hsystem and its functions. CIMPLICITY is the applied software based on Microsoft Windows NT developed by GE Fanuc Company. It has three major functions: SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) , HMI(Human Machine Interface) and network management. Chapter Four studies the basic principle and functions of CIMPLICITY configuration software, and gives a detailed introduction on the two frequently used packages of software Cimplicity HMI and Cimplicity Control. Examples are cited for program analysis and data monitoring functions of CIMPLICITY software. Chapter Five introduces the character of conveyance, information format, mode of communication and, from unit answer, studies MEMOBUS RTU communication agreement of basic units. Programming experiment has been made on CP-316H software for test, and test and research have been made on the function of MEMOBUS RTU communication agreement. Through the network, the continuous signals, switch signals, setting signals, monitoring signals and relevant signals of the mechanical system from crane control system can be received from remote areas. These signals belong to different number of fields. For the analysis and judgement of the state of the system being tested, Chapter Six lays stress on data mergence theory and the technology for merging data and images, including the introduction on the main theory of the mergence of multi-field data and the definition and main character of Kronecker products of matrix, the character of the merged products of matrix, and the mathematical concept of the matrix of images, grey level synthesizing into two-timensional data merged images. And the method of distinguishing the state of complicated system is expected to be analysed, sorted and diagnosed directly and quickly through fusion image's contour charts.
