The waterway tender is one of the most important equipment on maintaining waterway, and effective operation condition of monitoring electromechanical equipment could ensure that the waterway maintenance ship work well, so it is necessary to design a remote monitoring system of the electromechanical equipment. Combined with Web GIS technology, the system would achieve remote monitoring the position of the ship, enhancing the personnel' management of the tender.This paper chooses the electromechanical equipment of waterway tenders as the main monitoring object, and applies a variety of techniques and theories such as GIS technology, communication protocol, database technology, programming language, etc. to design and develop a remote monitoring system of waterway tenders' electromechanical equipment. Besides, this system has its division of the main function module according to the idea of modularization. Above all are aimed at ensuring smooth operation of the system as it makes a practical significance for the safety of the waterway tenders and the promotion of channel maintenance.The main research work is as follows:(1) On the basis of the characteristics and application fields of current GIS technology, this paper analyses present situation of the remote monitoring function of waterway tenders' electromechanical equipment, and proposes to use the current popular Web GIS technology, namely Baidu map API to build this system.(2) With a research on the tender's main electromechanical equipment interface and communication protocol, this paper designs an on-board terminal system, and completes the selection and installation of hardware. By achieving the software design of the on-board terminal system, it processes the data acquisition, data processing and other functions.(3) Achieving the design of remote monitoring and management system for waterway tenders' electromechanical equipment based on Web GIS technology, the system would realize the real-time monitoring of the operation parameters of electromechanical equipment and the position of waterway tenders. Configuring different registration package on each DTU, through a plurality of socket communication and multi thread technology, the system could monitoring a number of tenders at the same time by intercepting one port.(4) According to the overall framework and network structure of the system, this paper determines the main function modules and the realization of the program. Analyzing the parameter data of the electromechanical equipment state, the paper designs the database and program implementation, and finally completes the development of the system.On the basis of the key techniques of the system, this paper designs remote monitoring and management system for waterway tenders' electromechanical equipment based on Web GIS technology. The system has been put into practical application and its operation is stable and reliable. Application results show that the system meets the monitoring requirements of waterway tenders' electromechanical equipment, improving the automation management of the channel maintenance work.
