The thesis proposes a new approach to Daily Generation Scheduling to meet the needs of the development of power industry, which is practical and can be applied to electricity market including plan. The software based on the new approach is exploited. It has run successful in ShanXi Provincial Power Company for one year.The thesis consists of four parts as following:1. A practical model is developed with considering the man-made constraints. It brings up a new method to treat the fixed power energy, i.e.dividing it as three periods: peak-time, valley-time and plane-time. The economic analysis of power exchange is considered. The hydropower model adapted to the system of low proportion of hydropower is proposed. The coupling relationship between hydro and power in this thesis is quoted for the first time.2. A practical algorithm based on Expert Rules, Priority List and Dynamic Programming is proposed. Expert Rules and Priority List are used to reduce the number of optimal variables, and to make preparatory schedule. On the basis, the power schedule is optimized by Dynamic Programming.3. A software based on the studying above is worked out. It is programmed with modular construction and by dominated exploiting tool, that it is comprising and convenient to be extended and grafted.4. The applications in ShanXi Provincial Power Company are given, which validates the method and software. It is also shown the economic analysis ability to exchange power and the economy to deal with the fixed power energy through the method proposed.
