Steel-concrete composite structure will be one of main structures used in multi-stories and high buildings in the future, especially the SRC column and steel composite beam structure system. But the research on properties of this structure system is rarely carried out. In this paper, the mechanics behavior of the SRC column and steel beam joints is studied. The tests of the SRC column and steel beam joints under the cyclic reversed loading are carried out, which are analyzed by the ANSYS 3D nonlinear finite element program. In the pseudo static tests of the middle joint and border joint, the failure modes, the carrying capacity, the ductility, the hysteresis loops and the stress transfer mechanism of the SRC column and steel beam joints under seismic loads are researched, which are compared with RC beam-column joints and SRC beam-column joints. An equation to calculate ultimate shear-resistant capacity of SRC column and steel beam joint is discussed, with consideration of the actions of concrete, steel web and horizontal hoop. The effects of axial press and steel wing under loads are also discussed.
